چکیده

This paper describes the bifurcation phenomena of a system of parallel-connected dc/dc buck converters. The results provide useful information for the design of stable current sharing in a master–slave configuration. Computer simulations are performed to capture the effects of variation of some chosen parameters on the qualitative behavior of the system. These are summarized in a series of bifurcation diagrams. In particular, it is found that while variation of the voltage feedback gains leads to standard period-doubling bifurcation, variation of the current sharing ratio leads to border collision bifurcation. Analysis is presented to establish the possibility of the bifurcation phenomena and to locate the current sharing ratio at which border collision occurs.

Synchronization and Chaos in Multiple-Input Parallel DC-DC Converters with WTA Switching

This paper studies nonlinear dynamics of a simplified model of multiple-input parallel buck converters. The dynamic winnertake-all switching is used to achieve N-phase synchronization automatically, however, as parameters vary, the synchronization bifurcates to a variety of periodic/chaotic phenomena. In order to analyze system dynamics we adopt a simple piecewise constant modeling, extract ess...

Nonlinear Phenomena in Power Electronic: Chaotic Behavior of Buck Converters

Power electronic is rich in nonlinear dynamic. Its operation is characterized by cyclic switching of circuit topologies, which gives rise to different nonlinear behaviors. Among power electronic converters, DC/DC buck converters have been studied with constant-frequency pulse-width modulation feedback control in continuous conduction mode. Time-domain and phase-space plots for several periodic ...

Bifurcation in a System of Coupled Buck Converters

This paper studies the bifurcation behaviour of a system of coupled buck converters under current-mode control. The effects due to the variation of the reference current are studied. It has been observed that the system exhibits low-frequency bifurcation behaviour while period-doubling at switching frequency is suppressed. Extensive simulations are used to capture the findings. Time-domain wave...

Experimental Study of Chaos and Bifurcation in the Buck Converter

Nonlinear phenomena in closed-loop pulsewidth modulation (PWM) dc/dc converters have been reported recently. In this paper, we investigate experimentally these phenomena in a voltage-mode controlled buck converter operating in continuous-conduction mode. In particular, the complex behavior of a voltage feedback buck converter is studied for wide variation of input voltage and different load res...

Predicting Hopf Bifurcation from Averaged Models for Parallel-Connected Boost Converters

| This paper attempts to study the bifurcation phenomena of a system of parallel-connected dc/dc boost converters. In particular, it is shown that simple averaged models can be used to predict the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation in such systems. The results provide important information for the design of stable current sharing in a master-slave con guration.
